A really bad day for some

A big blow came through Annapolis today 25+ knots for the SE. This meant that the anchorage that we had been at for the last two day was very exposed to 4 ft swells and only about 100 ft directly onto the sea wall off the Naval Academy.

We had moved to an anchorage further out after we had fueled up and pumped out.

We watched in horror as a cruising boat much like ours dragged its anchor and ended up on the rocks on the sea wall.
In the space of an 2 hours more boat started dragging.

After listening to weather forecast, we realized that the blow was going last to the next two days, so we bailed and moved to anchor in Back Creek a couple if miles away.

Back creek is a creek with wall to wall marinas and boats. In fact this is the creek in which I bought Anahata almost exactly a year ago.

It’s totally sheltered so will definitely be able to get some sleep tonight.
