Mast down

After a day waiting for the wind to drop to the down the mast, we were greeted by a fantastic morning sunny skies and 15km/h wind. Schyler and his crew from Fair Point marina did a great job lifting the mast and setting it down on the racks we had built yesterday. 2 more hours […]

Chris Sumpton took on the task of being winched up the mast to check the VHF connection. We are still trying to solve that problem. After cleaning the terminals, he was allowed back down. He did not think that was the issue so more problem solving tomorrow.

Finally we are moving.

After a crazy last couple of weeks we are finally on the move. Anahata left Point Breeze on Saturday after some last minute high stress.  The solenoid decided to play games so we had to rebuild it. John Brown, a sailing friend in Point Breeze, on hearing that we had solenoid problems at a goodbye […]

Repacking liferaft

Getting the liferaft repacked. Nice to get inside it and see all the details. Learned some interesting bits of info. Interior of ceiling in liferaft is blue calming colour. Also the liferaft has sacrificial tape over the real tube seams just in case someone onboard gets the nervous necessity to pick away at something. This […]

3 Hatches rebuilt

When I first moved onto the boat in April, I discovered that three of the deck hatches leaked. I covered them up for the time being. Eventually had to deal with the reality that they had to be rebuilt. While I was all game to take on the project myself, I was convinced that there […]

Life packed up

After all the moving and downsizing in the last two year this all that is left. 9 tubs of photos, negative and art books plus 3 photography exhibits for 20 years of being a photographer. Just not enough space  for everything on Anahata. Thanks to Willy and Bev for helping me out.

Replacing the chainplates.

When I had a survey done we picked a high moisture reading on the side of the hull which was strange then I looked up and noticed that it was directly below the shrouds. On further research through the passport user group discovered this was a known issue. The chainplates ever encapsulated into the hull […]

Rebuilding the pedestal

When I bought Anahata the base of the Merriman pedestal was cracked through and needed to be replaced. I had spent the entire winter looking online for a replacement with no luck. On one of my first trips back to Toronto I passed by HMP Marine Chandlery he had a Merriman, only issue was it was […]
